Film test
Test stolen from Eaglevision:
1 - Look up TEN of your favorite movies on IMDB (I've just done 7 ^^U)
2 - Click the "trivia" link in the sidebar.
3 - Post a fun and random bit of trivia from each film.
4 - Tag five people!
Beware of SPOILERS!:
1) Blade Runner: at some point of the movie, each replicant has a red brightness in their eyes (Rachael in Deckard's home, Pris in Sebastian's). Deckard also has the shining in his eyes while talking to Rachael in his house.
2) The Great Dictator: the German spoken by the dictator is complete nonsense. The language in which the shop signs, posters, etc in the "Jewish" quarter are written is Esperanto, a language created in 1887 by Dr L.L. Zamenhof, a Polish Jew.
3) Dark Harbor: no trivia, so a quote instead:
- Young Man: I like your face.
- David Weinberg: What?
- Young Man: I like your watch.
4) Spirited Away: the cleansing of the river spirit is based on a real-life incident in Miyazaki's life in which he participated in the cleaning of a river, removing, among other things, a bicycle.
5) Die Hard: The scene in which Gruber and McClane meet was inserted in to the script after Alan Rickman (Hans Gruber) was found to be proficient at mimicking American accents. The filmmakers had been looking for a way to have the two characters meet prior to the climax and capitalized on Rickman's talent.
6) The Wave: Ron Jones, the initiator of the original experiment, attended the film's world premiere at Sundance Film Festival.
7) The boy in the striped pyjamas: although the concentration camp where the movie is set is never actually mentioned by name throughout the movie, we know it is Auschwitz because it was the only Nazi death camp with 4 crematoria. The SS officers are discussing the building's construction in the Commandant's office when Bruno's mother interrupts the meeting.
